Leesburg Family & Cosmetic Dentistry Sponsoring Rabbit Adoptions at the Loudoun County Animal Shelter

Posted .

Recently, Leesburg Family & Cosmetic Dentistry partnered with the new Loudoun County Animal Shelter, which opened on July 30, 2021 at 42225 Adoption Drive in Leesburg after two years of construction and four years of design planning.

The 21,000 square-foot facility is the first public shelter in the United States to comply with 100% of the Association of Shelter Veterinarians Animal Shelter Guidelines, which are considered to be the highest standards for sheltering animals in the United States. The new shelter replaces the old shelter, which was located near Waterford, Virginia. The new location also means that the shelter can better respond to the calls they receive regarding lost or stray animals in the community.
Not only does the shelter house animals and facilitate pet adoptions, but it also provides housing for abandoned, stray, or surrendered companion animals. The shelter also hosts educational programs and pet retention counseling. There’s even an on-site veterinary clinic and surgical site to provide medical treatment for the animals, complete with an in-house vet.

Dr. Whitman and her team are proud to announce that they will be sponsoring all of the rabbit adoptions at the shelter indefinitely!

The Leesburg Family & Cosmetic Dentistry team toured the facility and dropped off goodie bags for everyone who will be adopting rabbits, as well as for the staff there. The team at the Loudoun County Animal Shelter runs a wonderful operation and takes excellent care of all of the animals.

Being a rabbit owner herself, Dr. Whitman has a soft spot for the bunnies! Check out available rabbits on the shelter’s website here.
